All you need to know about our hair!
Remy Hair
Remy hair is Indian hair collected from one donor that has been lightly processed to make the hairs texture. The cuticle of the hair remains intact, all strands are hand selected and run in uniform direction preventing tangling and promoting stronger, healthier and longer lasting hair. Remy hair has a cool, silky texture and with proper care can last between 3-6 months.
Virgin Hair- Virgin hair is 100% natural with no chemicals or processing done to it. With Virgin hair wash after wash the hair looks healthy and shiny. Due to the hair being in its completely natural state, it is hypoallergenic and free from harmful chemicals.
Think of it like this if Remy hair is the Bentley of hair, Virgin hair is the Rolls Royce (lol)
Indian Hair
Indian hair is one of the most loved and universally used hair types. It is versatile, soft with a natural lustre.
Brazilian Hair
This is one of the most beautiful types of hair around. It is known for its beautiful bounce, full body, texture and versatility. We guarantee that with proper care Brazilian hair will last you between 9- 15 months.
Burmese hair
Burmese hair is a not widely known premium hair, however here at Cherished Hair we keep are ladies heads above the rest. Burmese hair is a cross between Chinese and Indian hair. It is health, resilient and full bodied. Burmese hair is naturally straight with a slight curl at the end. It suits Afro-Caribbean’s and those that like naturally straight hair very well.
Malaysian hair
This hair is probably the most luxurious of all the hair types it possess a softness that is irresistible to touch and may just have you and all that come across it falling in love. Malaysian hair suits all.
Weft hair
Weft hair is hair used for weaves, this hair can be sewn on, glued on or hair clips attached and clipped on. There are hand tied wefts and machine wefts. Hand tied wefts are slights more delicate and thinner and probably best for glued on weaves.
Full Lace Wigs
Full lace wigs are hair wigs that are applied by either gluing, taping or clipping the circumference of the wig around the head. This form of extension is widely used by celebrities such as Beyonce, Tyra Banks to name a few and provides the illusion of hair growing form your scalp. It can be washed, chemically altered, parted with a natural hair line and worn in an up do/ high ponytail. With proper care your lace wig will last you at between 9months- 1 year and beyond. Lace wigs offer are a good protective style for those that still want to be versatile with their hair and looks without compromising the health of their natural hair with the regular use of heat and chemicals.
Lace Front wigs
Lace front wigs are similar to full lace wigs apart from the fact that the back of the hair is secured with clips and only the front offers the illusion of hair growing from the scalp consequently this wig can not be worn in an up do/high ponytail.
U-Part wigs
U-Part wigs are wigs that are constructed with a U shape space left out at the crown for your own hair. We can also make a u-part wig with a closure for you therefore allowing all you to achieve your look without leaving out your own hair. These wigs are a great of having a full head weave without the process of having a sew-in. They are a great way to add versatility to your hair style and can be easily removed to allow for you to care for your natural hair with ease. Our wigs can be attached and removed daily or the circumference of the wig can be sewn on to your hair for a longer wear. Sewing in the wig should take no more than 30 mins so no more long stays at the hairdressers ladies!!
How to care for your Cherished Hair
What type of hair products to use?
Treat your virgin or Remy hair as you would yours, so wash and condition it weekly, try to use a sulphate free shampoo as this type of shampoo cleanses the hair without stripping it of its natural oils thus keeping it moisturised. Conditioning Hair is good for you hair as it keep hair soft, motorised and manageable.
You can also use products such as foam wrapping lotion, leave-in conditioner and hair spray to keep hair and or curls in place but make sure you wash your hair and do not leave products in for long periods of time to avoid limp, greasy hair.
How do I care for my Cherished Hair?
We advise that you Brush your hair gently using a paddle brush/wide tooth comb starting from the ends then gradually up to your scalp. Starting at the ends keeps the pressure off the hold of the extensions regardless of if you have extensions sewn in, glued in or a lace wig on. It also makes brushing out any tangles easier and is a good way to maintain the longevity of the hair.
Can I go swimming etc with my hair extensions or lace wig?
Yes you can, all our hairs are natural and consequently can and should be managed in the same way you would your natural hair. We recommend you braid you hair or put it in a ponytail before going swimming etc to prevent tangling and spray with a leave in conditioner afterwards.
Is a fitting service offered for lace wigs?
Yes. We offer private at home evening and weekend lace wig fittings to all. Regardless of if you lace wig was purchased with us or not. There is a charge for this service and we only cover the London area. Please contact us for enquires.
How many extensions are needed?
Each pack of weft hair includes roughly 100g (4.0 oz) of hair. For a full head of weave a minimum of two packs is needed, if you require a full bodied weave then perhaps three packs would be better suited.
Please Note: Since hair is sold by total weight the general rule is “The longer the hair, the shorter the width of the weft” So If you are using hair OVER 18” long we would suggest purchasing an additional pack (3 in total). It is always best to have enough hair than run short during installation.
Can I colour my hair?
Yes, as all our hair is natural it can be coloured with permanent, semi permanent and rinses. Majority of our hair apart from Russian hair comes in natural black and brown tones. Please note that once the hair is coloured it is no longer considered “Virgin Hair” and so we don’t guarantee the longevity of the hair. We recommend that the hair is coloured by a professional hair stylist/colour technician.

We ship in-stock hair within 24/48 hours after receipt of payment, so expect delivery within 3-5 business days for UK orders.
If your product is not currently in stock we will order the stock on your behalf after receipt of payment and delivery will be within 10 working days.
International shipping- Cherished Hair does ship internationally. Shipping costs and timeframes are available at the checkout.
